Scratch
Here you will find older scratches, musings and other detritus that once were located on the front pages, but have now faded.
Filed away here to collect dust and cobwwwebs in perpetuity, links may break, facts may change and data may corrupt.
On occasion I may come down here to tidy, but for the most, I prefer to leave the past where it lies.
Ce Weekend (2)
So the weekend came and although the weather was a bit murky for the Saturday it didn't dampen spirits, or prevent them from being drunk.
People arrived at the first pub relatively promptly and settled in to watch the rugby. One absentee managed to "attend" by phone for the first three pubs until people got too drunk to repeat things or carry "him" about. After a couple of drinks we moved, I hesitate to use swiftly, along to the next three pubs which haven't changed to any degree. The third of these saw the first late arrivals join us for a drink (technically they weren't late as they run the place) and the first quantities of tequila and aftershock started to flow, not to mention cigars (I am weak). Something that was certainly continued in further pubs.
Moving along we discovered one of our less frequent haunts had been gutted and turned into a trendy wine bar, and we all agreed it would have been better as a bank. Further pubs (and KFC) fell as we marched on, all conquering. Other friends popped by, some even managing to stay (and not get lost parking) for a drink.
Finally, we arrived in the last pub before we settled down to some quality drinking sans walking. As the final bell tolled we were all still standing if but swaying slightly in the breeze and headed our seperate ways.
For those that remained, Sunday was a bright and beautiful day. Lunch was bad, and for some didn't arrive, but all in all a pleasant winddown from the night before. It was simply a matter when all said and done, to hop on the bus and head home.
No bumps, cuts, bruises or lasting injuries, with the exception of my boxer shorts that were ripped from my body somepoint during the last pint, much to my discomfort, although why anyone would want to wear them on their head is another matter altogether. All in all a good one, and it was good to see em all again. And for those that couldn't make it, there's always next year...
