Scratch

Here you will find older scratches, musings and other detritus that once were located on the front pages, but have now faded.

Filed away here to collect dust and cobwwwebs in perpetuity, links may break, facts may change and data may corrupt.

On occasion I may come down here to tidy, but for the most, I prefer to leave the past where it lies.

MT3.0

Following the release of MT3.0 by Six Apart, I have lost track of the number of trackbacks that remonstrate against this. I believe part of the problem was that people saw previous versions of MT as "free" and this is where the problem lies - it has never been GPL software, but people turned a blind eye and lived with the restictions. Now these restrictions are enhanced and loaded together with a licensing policy, people don't like this. I am wondering though that if the people complaining are the ones who put all the long hours in to get to v2.6, wrote plug-ins, answered n00bie questions till they were blue in the fingers. Somehow I think not.
