Scratch
Here you will find older scratches, musings and other detritus that once were located on the front pages, but have now faded.
Filed away here to collect dust and cobwwwebs in perpetuity, links may break, facts may change and data may corrupt.
On occasion I may come down here to tidy, but for the most, I prefer to leave the past where it lies.
Online Encyclopedia's
If your craving some random knowledge, may I recommend looking at The Free Dictionary and Wikipedia.
Take for example today where I learned from Wikipedia alone that:
- The oldest tree still living now, the Bristlecone pine tree "Methuselah", germinated in about 2700 BC
- In the 13th Century, Norway cedes the Isle of Man to Scotland
- In the early 23rd century Pluto will switch ranking with Neptune and temporarily, for about 20 years, will become the 8th planet from the sun. The last time this occurred was during 1979-1999 - So for almost 3/4s of my life, everyone who told my that Pluto is the furthest (known) planet have been lying to me
- March 16 2880: A 1/300 probability prediction that asteroid (29075) 1950 DA will hit Earth causing an extinction-level event
- ...and should we survive that, then we may get to see the 27th Century where we will inevitably end up fighting the Kilrathi.
