Scratch
Here you will find older scratches, musings and other detritus that once were located on the front pages, but have now faded.
Filed away here to collect dust and cobwwwebs in perpetuity, links may break, facts may change and data may corrupt.
On occasion I may come down here to tidy, but for the most, I prefer to leave the past where it lies.
Karma
In the week that has seen my return to work, I have had to deal with a fire related evacuation caused by broken ball bearing in a malfunctioning A/C unit, another evacuation caused by a large amount of diesel leaking into a basement sub floor from locations unknown, and with the potential for all manor of potential bad things to happen during this weekend's shutdown, I figured my week couldn't get worse.
I was wrong.
On the way into work this morning, I stopped off to get a coffee. As I was exiting the shop, I paused briefly as I always do to check that I wasn't about to walk in someones way as I continue my journey, much like the green cross code. This is as much for self preservation as politeness. I looked left and saw no one coming. Before I had managed to look right, I was greated with an incredible stabbing pain in my right knee (between the knee cap and fibula to be exact), causing me to crumple slightly whilst shouting. The shouting was subsequentially excaberated by the liberal application of boiling coffee to my hands as much as the lack of any other noise on Tottenham Court Road at 7:40 in the morning.
After I had finished swearing, I attempted to regain my composure, and it was at this point the blind man apologised for attempting to skewer me, pointing out that he had never done it before. I duly apologised in an English manner, as it was obviously me in the wrong for putting my knee in the way of his cane.
I must find out what I did wrong and make amends before I get crispied one way or another.
