Scratch
Here you will find older scratches, musings and other detritus that once were located on the front pages, but have now faded.
Filed away here to collect dust and cobwwwebs in perpetuity, links may break, facts may change and data may corrupt.
On occasion I may come down here to tidy, but for the most, I prefer to leave the past where it lies.
Judge Dredd: The Day the Law Died
John Wagner, Brain Bolland & Mike McMahon

When Judge Dredd returns from the Cursed Earth, he's convicted of murder! Now, with Dredd out of the way, the stage is set for the ascent to power of the crazed head of the Special Judicial Service - Judge Cal!
With the insane Cal in charge of Mega-City One, the law soon becomes a nightmare as the Judges turn on the citizens. Only Dredd, aided by a handful of wounded Judges, can stop the madness - and save Mega-City One from its darkest hour yet!
First published on 4th November 1978, this is a good solid Dredd story. Compared to later stories, it is relatively linear in terms of plot, some of which requires a certain suspension of disbelief, and lays on the action thick and fast. Like all Dredd stories the humour is there as are there are hints, illusions and downright parodies to current and historical figures. Its a good basis for the Dredd we know today.
