Scratch
Here you will find older scratches, musings and other detritus that once were located on the front pages, but have now faded.
Filed away here to collect dust and cobwwwebs in perpetuity, links may break, facts may change and data may corrupt.
On occasion I may come down here to tidy, but for the most, I prefer to leave the past where it lies.
2Mbps
Over the last week or so, I have been thinking about the value for money I get from my ADSL courtesy of Demon.net. Whilst I cannot grumble at the service levels, £24.99 for 512k seems a bit expensive these days, especially considering the likes of Bulldog and UKOnline are starting to offer 8Mb for about the same. Admittedly, the reason I went with Demon in the first place was that this price included a static IP, is still the case, and few other companies offer this for home-esque users, but at that price, dynamic DNS services would be considered.
Returning home from work today I was pleasantly suprised to receive a letter letting me know my account will be upgraded for free in the next few weeks. Given that I rarely push the line as it is, and that this and other sites hosted here aren't draining bandwidth like a black hole, I think I can live with that price for the customer support alone.
