Scratch
Here you will find older scratches, musings and other detritus that once were located on the front pages, but have now faded.
Filed away here to collect dust and cobwwwebs in perpetuity, links may break, facts may change and data may corrupt.
On occasion I may come down here to tidy, but for the most, I prefer to leave the past where it lies.
Festive Trips
They, whoever they are, say all roads lead to Rome. Whilst this may be true, I am firmly of the belief that all railroads will either lead you the wrong place or absolutely nowhere at all. Needless to say both will be accompanied by grief in one form or another.
Take yesterday for example. As part of the build up to Christmas, it is customary for people use the first obligatory work do to start the festive slacking and ours started in ernest at La Perla, a mexican restaurant on Charlotte Street. Although some of my colleagues got in around 10ish, had a coffee break and then slopped of to get to the pub for opening time, I was a tad busy and joined them at the agreed time, by which point there was already an empty bottle of Jose Cuervo on the table. But I digress, after the ok meal, some rather pleasant mexican wine, we adjourned to the Fitzroy Tavern for a few jars of Sam Smith's ale.
At about this time its probably worth opening this Google Earth Snapshot.
Upon leaving the pub I headed to the Tottenham Court Road tube station, where I waited for an Ealing Broadway train, passing on two West Ruislip Trains the reason being is that if I should miss my stop I don't have far to head back from the end of the line. Unfortunately, whilst I had anticipated falling asleep, I had no contingency if I wasn't woken at Ealing Broadway.
So, when I was turfed off the train at Epping at around 01:20am, I was a tad peeved, especially since that was the last train.
