Scratch
Here you will find older scratches, musings and other detritus that once were located on the front pages, but have now faded.
Filed away here to collect dust and cobwwwebs in perpetuity, links may break, facts may change and data may corrupt.
On occasion I may come down here to tidy, but for the most, I prefer to leave the past where it lies.

Mutant Vampire Durham Red returns in this chilling, gothic SF adventure. Danger threatens when Red discovers that a twisted future version of herself, the demonic Brite Red, is hunting her down. The only way she can survive is to get her hands on the terrifying alien artifact known as Manticore but, even then, can she destroy her own future?
Mixing SF action with gothic horror, Manticore Reborn is an edge-of-your-seat thrill ride as the most dangerous woman in the galaxy finds out there's something even she is scared of - herself.
The fourth book by Peter Evans based on the 2000AD character Durham Red, and this continues where the previous books have left off. The number of characters is reduced and we are only really dealing with Red, Godolkin and Judas who we have met before.
The plot stems from an encounter Durham Red has with a time-travelling future incarnation of herself, Brite Red that happens in between this and The Encoded Heart which is recounted in flashbacks. From here events spiral, as they tend to when Red is around, and as the book draws to a close the ramifications of 'past/future' actions present themselves in what I can only describe as one hell of a time paradox.
The books seems thinner than previous ones, and I did find myself thinking it was over very quickly, almost as this was to be a subplot in a larger book. We shall see what lies for Red in the future though as it aint long till the next one is available.
