Scratch

Here you will find older scratches, musings and other detritus that once were located on the front pages, but have now faded.

Filed away here to collect dust and cobwwwebs in perpetuity, links may break, facts may change and data may corrupt.

On occasion I may come down here to tidy, but for the most, I prefer to leave the past where it lies.

Ice Age: The Meltdown

3 out of 5 stars

Check out the movie at IMDB

Whilst I couldn't fault the standard of animation or the continuity of characterisation, the plot was thinner than the melting ice Diego, Manny and Sid found themselves skating upon. Whilst there were some very funny points, I found that they seemed rather too forced; at times it felt that the main characters were moving from crisis to crisis, more like animated shorts which, when they didn't flow naturally, were interspersed with Scrat episodes.

Whilst the film has lots of energy, accompanied with top rate animation and good voice-over work, like the first movie there is no real story to it, and (un)fortunately, Scrat runs away with the movie.
