Scratch

Here you will find older scratches, musings and other detritus that once were located on the front pages, but have now faded.

Filed away here to collect dust and cobwwwebs in perpetuity, links may break, facts may change and data may corrupt.

On occasion I may come down here to tidy, but for the most, I prefer to leave the past where it lies.

Sin City: The Hard Goodbye by Frank Miller

Sin City: The Hard Goodbye

Frank Miller

5 out of 5 stars

Worth Killing For.

Worth Dying For.

Worth Going to Hell For.

Amen.

Having seen the film recently, I thought it would be good to go back and review the books as it has been some years since I read them, and they were every bit as good as I remember.

The Hard Goodbye concerns itself with Marv, a big, ugly lug a graduate in the school of hard knock, and how he meets Goldie and for the first time in his life, he feels truly alive. The feeling doesn't last long though as he wakes to find Goldie dead and himself the subject of a frame up. After this he devotes his life to finding Goldie's killer and exacting revenge, his path taking him to the highest echelons of Sin City's oligarchy.

Both the script and the stark artwork compliment each other and this series is one of Frank Miller's greatest achievements. The first in a truly awesome series.
