Scratch

Here you will find older scratches, musings and other detritus that once were located on the front pages, but have now faded.

Filed away here to collect dust and cobwwwebs in perpetuity, links may break, facts may change and data may corrupt.

On occasion I may come down here to tidy, but for the most, I prefer to leave the past where it lies.

Welcome to a Fallen World...

...a haunted world of black magic, demonsand the ghosts of past mistakes - the world of John Constantine, Hellblazer.

As one of the few practitioners to have a grasp of magic's true potential, Constantine is too shrewd to lose himself in it completely - but he cannot escape its hold, or its accompaning dangers. Unfortunately, while he may understaned the real price of such powers, there''s a never ending supply of amateurs out there eager to sign away everything for a taste of it - and like it or not, Constantine's hard-won knowledge guarantees that he'll always be in the middle of the mess that follows.

John Constantine was originally created as a supporting character by Alan Moore in Swamp Thing, but so well received he shortly afterwards received his own series. Constantine is an insouciant, somewhat amoral occult dabbler and psychic detective who spends his time in a trenchcoat, chain smoking Silk Cuts whilst taking on the fiends of hell.

As published by Vertigo these stories are more adult in outlook than those people usually associate with comics, and with no high tech gagets or super powers your left with just an honest rogue with nothing but a little magic and his ample wits to keep him alive.

Well worth giving a go if you fancy a British based graphic novel.
