Scratch

Here you will find older scratches, musings and other detritus that once were located on the front pages, but have now faded.

Filed away here to collect dust and cobwwwebs in perpetuity, links may break, facts may change and data may corrupt.

On occasion I may come down here to tidy, but for the most, I prefer to leave the past where it lies.

The Flight of the Eisenstein: The Heresy Unfolds by James Swallow

The Flight of the Eisenstein: The Heresy Unfolds

James Swallow

3 out of 5 stars

Having witnessed the events on Istvaan III, Deathguard Captain Garro seizes a ship and heads to Terra to warn the Emperor of Horus' treachery. But the fleeing Eisenstein is damaged by enemy fire, and becomes stranded in the warp. Can Garro and his men survive the depradations of Chaos and get his warning to Terra in time?/cite>

James Swallow possibly has a slightly easier job of continuing this series than his predecessor, as he gets to focus on a set of previously periphery characters and their response to the events of Istvaan III.

Given it took me a little less that a day to read, I did fly through it. I found the change in character focus refreshing, but would like to know the outcome of those characters left behind, as the previous book left some quite ambiguous.

July 2007 for the next book.
