Scratch
Here you will find older scratches, musings and other detritus that once were located on the front pages, but have now faded.
Filed away here to collect dust and cobwwwebs in perpetuity, links may break, facts may change and data may corrupt.
On occasion I may come down here to tidy, but for the most, I prefer to leave the past where it lies.

To be be honest after work today, I wasn't sure whether I fancied Mitchell and Webb's Magicians, but having sat through the preview in reserved seats, I can happily say I am glad I persevered.
Of course, when I say reserved seats, they weren't actually reserved for me, I just happened to be a bit later turning up and they were the only ones left. Before the start, the nice people at the cinema tagged and bagged all my electronic equipment, something I suspect they regreted after I emptied out my pockets, but possibly not as much as those in the queue behind me.
As the lights went down, both David Mitchell and Robert Webb bounded in to introduce the film, and before you could utter a witty retort, they were gone and the credits were rolling. There isn't much else to say other than if you like Peep Show, magic or both your going to like Magicians. The script is funny, the acting is good with Webb, Mitchell, Peter Capaldi and Jessica Stevenson all pretty much what they do best, and the direction wraps it up neatly. There are a few stand out moments, but the film is pretty consistent throughout.
