Scratch

Here you will find older scratches, musings and other detritus that once were located on the front pages, but have now faded.

Filed away here to collect dust and cobwwwebs in perpetuity, links may break, facts may change and data may corrupt.

On occasion I may come down here to tidy, but for the most, I prefer to leave the past where it lies.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J. K. Rowling

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

J. K. Rowling

4 out of 5 stars

Harry has been burdened with a dark, dangerous and seemingly impossible task: that of locating and destroying Voldemort’s remaining Horcruxes. Never has Harry felt so alone, or faced a future so full of shadows. But Harry must somehow find within himself the strength to complete the task he has been given. He must leave the warmth, safety and companionship of The Burrow and follow without fear or hesitation the inexorable path laid out for him.

The final installment of Harry Potter. To be fair I thought it was a fitting end to the series which tied up various loose ends that have been setup since the first book. Its what you come to expect from a Potter book, although the death toll, perhaps fittingly, creeps up lending weight to the notion that noone is safe. There are highs and lows, tears of happiness and sorrow, twists and turns.

I wouldn't expect people to read this if they haven't picked up previous books, so it will probably only appeal to Potter fans, but as series goes, it is a good one.
