Scratch
Here you will find older scratches, musings and other detritus that once were located on the front pages, but have now faded.
Filed away here to collect dust and cobwwwebs in perpetuity, links may break, facts may change and data may corrupt.
On occasion I may come down here to tidy, but for the most, I prefer to leave the past where it lies.

Have just got back from a preview screening of Beowulf and I have to say its pretty damn good. I suspect that if I was still wearing them, I could still see the blood and gore dripping off my 3D specs.
What more could you want - violence, nudity (mainly Jolie and Hopkins although thankfully not together) a healthy dose of demon spawn in various guises, more violence, epic-esque score, all wrapped up in some pretty damn good animated motion capture.
From the moment the titles fly by your head to the end credits, the pacing is pretty spot on, and the film seems effortless as it flows by reaching its conclusion. There are brief lulls in the action, a wench joke here, a piece of thoughful camaraderie there, all of which help to add gravitas to the loss and bloodshed.
Well worth seeing, if for nothing else, for the fact that all the characters look almost identical to the actors/actresses voicing them. Except Beowulf himself voiced by Ray Winstone who looks strangely like Sean Bean, and rather less like he did in Sexy Beast.
